The Veer-class are missile corvettes/fast attack craft operated by the Indian Navy, based on the Soviet Tarantul-class design, providing fast, missile-armed coastal strike capability.[1]
Veer-class vessels displace 455 tons, measuring 56.1 m in length with an 11.5 m beam and 2.5 m draught. Using a COGAG (Combined Gas and Gas) propulsion configuration with gas turbines producing a combined 16,016 PS plus 4,993 PS, the class reaches a high top speed of 36 knots, with a small complement of 41 personnel including 5 officers — reflecting its role as a fast, missile-armed coastal strike platform rather than a longer-endurance surface combatant.[1]
