Revathi is a shipborne 3D surveillance radar developed by DRDO/LRDE and produced by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the Indian Navy, providing medium-range detection and tracking of air and surface targets from a stabilised shipboard mount. It is the naval derivative of the same Central Acquisition Radar (3D-CAR) base design that produced the IAF’s land-mobile Rohini radar.[1][2]

Design and Performance

Revathi operates in the S-band and is mounted on a stabilised platform to compensate for ship motion, providing continuous Track-While-Scan (TWS) coverage of both airborne and surface targets. It can automatically track up to 150 targets simultaneously, with association to IFF Mark XI interrogation for friend-or-foe identification, making it a key medium-range air/surface search sensor for Indian Navy surface combatants.[1]

Role

Revathi equips a range of Indian Navy frigates, destroyers and corvettes as a medium-range surveillance radar, feeding target data into shipboard combat management systems for both air-defence and surface-warfare situational awareness.[2]
