Samyukta is a large, mobile, integrated electronic warfare (EW) system developed jointly by DRDO, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) and the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals, fielded as one of the largest and most comprehensive tactical EW systems operated by the Indian Army.[1]
Samyukta comprises around 145 ground-mobile vehicles, organised into three communication-intelligence (COMINT) segments for intercepting, direction-finding and jamming enemy communications, plus two non-communication (ELINT) segments dedicated to detecting and characterising enemy radar emissions. Each deployed system provides coverage across an area of roughly 100 km by 70 km.[1]
The system spans an exceptionally wide frequency range — from 1.5 MHz up to 40 GHz — allowing it to intercept, monitor and jam signals from HF communications through to millimetre-wave radar emissions. Functions include electronic intelligence (ELINT), communications intelligence (COMINT), and electronic countermeasures (ECM/jamming); it can perform direction-finding to geolocate the source of a signal, and can jam threat radar frequencies from X-band through Ku-band, along with prioritised jamming of high-value emitters.[1]
Being fully mobile, Samyukta is designed for tactical battlefield deployment alongside manoeuvre formations, denying an adversary’s ability to communicate and use radar effectively while providing Indian forces with a real-time picture of enemy electronic order of battle.[1]
