This has translated into Israel becoming one of India\u2019s most reliable defence partners, supplying everything from sensors to missiles and UAVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For a long time, India remained the world\u2019s largest importer of defence equipment, only recently slipping to second place amid the surge in wartime procurement by Ukraine. Despite India\u2019s push for indigenous capability, Israeli systems continue to hold a significant share in the Indian inventory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Relationship That Defies Conventional Logic<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
What makes the India-Israel defence relationship particularly interesting is how it defies conventional procurement logic. Typically, when a country is close to developing an indigenous system in a particular category, imports in that same segment become unlikely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
