It further assures stakeholders that engine supply outlook is positive and that <strong>delivery guidance for the current financial year will be met<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5-1024x684.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5-1024x684.png 1024w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5-768x513.png 768w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5-1536x1025.png 1536w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5-1320x881.png 1320w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5-600x400.png 600w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-5.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the wording used by HAL is revealing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft, according to the release, are <strong>\u201cincorporating major contracted capabilities as per the contracted specifications\u201d<\/strong>, while <strong>design and development issues are still being \u201caddressed in an expedited manner.\u201d<\/strong> At the same time, HAL insists the jets are <em>ready for delivery<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6-1320x743.png 1320w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6-600x338.png 600w, https:\/\/alphadefense.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-6.png 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This creates a fundamental and uncomfortable question:<br><strong>Is HAL proposing to deliver aircraft that meet only <em>major<\/em> contracted capabilities rather than the <em>full<\/em> contracted configuration?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the aircraft is truly ready, then all contracted capabilities should already be integrated and validated. If not, then the definition of \u201cready for delivery\u201d itself becomes questionable especially for a frontline combat aircraft meant for the Indian Air Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ambiguity cannot be brushed aside as a communication issue. It goes directly to <strong>programme governance, contractual compliance, and operational readiness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accountability, therefore, must be clearly fixed. The responsibility cannot remain diffused across suppliers or external dependencies alone. The <strong>HAL CMD and the LCA programme leadership within HAL must publicly clarify<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What capabilities are present today<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What capabilities are pending<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And whether the IAF is being asked to accept aircraft short of the originally contracted standard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>HAL needs to be backed when it delivers but <strong>scrutinised harder when it does not<\/strong>.
