The Indian Air Force (IAF) is advancing its Su-30MKI upgrade program<\/strong> with the introduction of the Virupaksha AESA radar<\/strong>, a Gallium Nitride (GaN)-<\/strong>based active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar designed to enhance combat effectiveness. This state-of-the-art radar, equipped with approximately 2600 Transmit\/Receive Modules (TRM<\/strong>), promises superior range, reduced weight, optimized power<\/strong> consumption, enhanced cooling efficiency, and higher resolution than legacy systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To drive indigenous radar development, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) <\/strong>had released Express of Interest for potential Indian vendors to become the Development Cum Production Partners (DcPP)<\/strong> and receive the technology. These vendors will refine and produce the radar, with final contracts awarded to the lowest bid<\/strong> for mass production and integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
