The Bangaram-class are small fast attack/patrol craft operated by the Indian Navy, primarily used for close-coastal patrol, surveillance and interdiction duties around India’s island territories and near-shore waters, sharing design lineage with the wider Trinkat/Car Nicobar family of Indian Navy fast attack craft.[1]

Role

Bangaram-class vessels are employed for short-range coastal security, anti-smuggling and anti-infiltration patrols, and general presence/surveillance duties in waters close to India’s coastline and island territories, complementing the larger Car Nicobar and Trinkat-class craft in the Navy’s layered coastal-security architecture.[1]
